Igus has introduced self-serve shopping for their online store, RBTX.
Igus has introduced a new checkout system for their online store, the RBTX robotics marketplace, which allows customers to purchase Igus’s components directly without needing a sales consultation.
This shift to a self-serve model is designed to provide a streamlined experience for engineers and designers. Customers can now manage the entire purchasing process online with full pricing transparency and secure credit card checkout. For industry experts who already know exactly what they are looking for, this will be a welcome change that makes purchasing from Igus more efficient.
This is a slight shift in philosophy for RBTX, but the website stated it “remains committed to its consultative roots.” Previously, purchasing required the assistance of a consultant. This consultant was on hand to ensure that components purchased together would be compatible in an end product to reduce the risk of downtime or incorrect ordering often associated with complex robotics hardware.
To that end, customers can still use Igus’s old guided experience to design a complete system with parts that are compatible with each other. RBTX’s "Build a Complete System" feature is backed by the company’s guarantee that the selected parts will function as a cohesive unit.
“We are excited to enable online checkout for customers while still providing our compatibility guarantee,” said Jan Hennecke, product manager for RBTX. “We will continue to focus on support and helping customers choose the right components for their solution, but for those that already know what they need, they can now easily purchase parts on their own.”
Free professional consultations remain available for those who desire a second pair of eyes on their system architecture.
