Humanoids 2026

The 25th IEEE‑RAS International Conference on Humanoid Robots will take place December 6–9, 2026, in Silicon Valley, California, bringing together the world’s leading researchers, engineers, and industry innovators in humanoid and human-centered robotics.

Organized by the IEEE Robotics and Automation Society (IEEE-RAS), Humanoids 2026 marks a milestone edition of the conference at a time when humanoid technologies are rapidly transitioning from laboratories into real-world deployment.

Humanoids 2026 serves as a premier international forum for presenting and discussing advances in:

• Humanoid robot design, modeling, and control
• Whole-body locomotion and manipulation
• Learning, perception, and AI for humanoid systems
• Human-humanoid physical and social interaction
• Wearable robots, exoskeletons, and prosthetics
• Real-world humanoid applications in industry, healthcare, home, space, and disaster response

The conference emphasizes the integration of physical, cognitive, and motor capabilities, alongside scientific understanding of interaction between humans and humanoid or anthropomorphic systems.

A highlight of the event will be an on-site humanoid robot competition:

The Loco-Manipulation Challenge will consist of a single testing apparatus that contains a number of locomotion/mobility tasks and manipulation tasks. The arena includes a variety of reproducible terrains, obstacles, and manipulation tasks with varying difficulty to challenge all levels of robot performance. The goal of the competition is to evaluate baseline humanoid robot mobility, manipulation/dexterity, and reasoning capabilities. Competition participants will be able to compare performance with the best humanoid robots in the world, which will be evaluated on similar tests before and after the competition. Results from the competition will also help inform where the research field is relative to the commercial sector.
